Kassie established Rose Red LaManchas as a 4-Her in 2004, with her first goat, Jenny. We used the Rose Red herd name with our group of ADGA registered Recorded Grade and LaMancha goats until 2020, when we decided to change our herd name to match more accurately with our farm name and "rebirth" as a family driven herd focusing on our own breeding. Our herd name is now Eden-Made. We rely on our goats to produce delicious dairy products and enjoy spending time as a family showing them at ADGA sanctioned shows around the state of Maine and New England. Each spring we offer kids for sale, with reservations opening at the conclusion of breeding season.

Milk & Milk ProductsOur goats produce delicious milk for our family and for sale in season. Goats' milk from different producers can vary widely in flavor due to production factors, but we find the taste of our goats' milk to be very comparable to cows' milk! Everyone we've "tested" has been unable to tell the difference! We sell milk and milk products under the Athens Food Sovereignty Act.
2024:
Available at the farm stand or directly with a 24 hour advance notice: Milk: $4/quart $3.50 with jar return. Chocolate Milk $5/quart Chevre (soft cheese) Flavors vary $8/ 1/2 lb Fudge: Chocolate or Peanut butter $8/ 1/2 lb Soap: Different varieties $5/bar Find our milk & dairy products at our farm stand daily, special orders also available. |
Breeding & Kids
Depending on our buck availability, we offer driveway breedings to clean tested does, generally September-January.
We have a semen tank, offering semen storage services and may have semen for sale, inquire if interested to see what we have available, or see our Breeding page for more information! We accept reservations for the upcoming year's kids as soon as breedings are confirmed. See our Breeding page for more information. Eden Farm Livestock Reservation Policy: All reservations are $50, payable in cash, check ($50 returned check fee), Paypal, or Venmo. The nonrefundable $50 deposit applies towards the final purchase price of the animal. Eden Farm reserves the right to first choice of all animals born on the farm, regardless of deposits. If your reservation cannot be fulfilled by Eden Farm, you may roll it over to another offered animal, roll it over to the next kidding season, or have it returned in the same format you paid. If you decide you do not want the animal, do not make complete final payment, or do not pick up the animal within the specified time period, you forfeit your deposit. We also accept names for a waiting list-no charge, you will be contacted as unreserved kids become available. We only sell goats to homes with other goats (goats are herd animals & don't generally do well alone) or in pairs (good news, we offer discounts on multiples!). Occasionally we offer older kids, yearling, and adult does or bucks for sale. Contact us to inquire or check our Facebook page. Our goats are tested annually for CAE, CL, and Johne's disease and we are proud to maintain a clean tested herd.

ExhibitionsOne of the primary focuses of our dairy goat herd is showing! We exhibit our goats at ADGA sanctioned shows around the state of Maine and New England. We love that shows not only afford us the opportunity to exhibit the hard work we've invested in our breeding decisions and herd planning, but to spend time with our "goat family" and teach the general public about the magic of dairy goats! Come and find us at the fair!
Milk Testing
We offer 48 hour milk testing services to other farms and local producers (goat, cow, or sheep). It should be noted that we are not an accredited lab and for confirmation and treatment & cannot provide resistance information. Discuss results with your veterinarian to determine proper course of treatment. We have the ability to test for the following:
Samples should be collected while wearing disposable gloves. Discard the first few streams from the teat. Sanitize teat thoroughly and then collect approximately 2 ml of milk into a sterile container. Chill immediately and drop it off to us or mail it on ice. Samples can be composite (combination of milk from all halves/quarters of the udder) or from a single half/quarter. $10 PER SAMPLE RESULTS BY EMAIL, TEXT, OR FB MESSAGE IN 48 HOURS. Contact us with questions. |
