THE FARM
We are located on the Brighton Road in beautiful Athens, Maine. We purchased our farm with a single open steel barn and acres of pastures, and have since added our home, garage, a USDA designed manure storage facility, hay barn, and are currently constructing a licensed dairy facility, commercial kitchen, and goat barn. Our farm was originally part of Frith Farms, owned by Kassie's grandparents, Maynard & Marlene Frith, who had a history of quality dairy cows and Angus beef production dating back to the 1960s, and was where Kassie got her start raising and showing dairy heifers, beef cattle, and LaMancha dairy goats. Eden Farm is rooted in this legacy and was established in 2011.
We started our business focusing on selling 100% grass fed beef and later added pastured pork. In 2018, we shifted away from pork, and at the beginning of 2019, after careful consideration and running some numbers, decided to move our goals away from beef products and focus instead on breeding and selling high quality feeder calves to grass based finishers. Kassie has had goats since 2004, but decided to concentrate more on developing quality animals that would be successful in the show ring, which led to the growth of our dairy business. In 2020, we opened our farm stand, which is open seasonally and features milk, cheese, fudge, soap, and other products from our farm. Our farm is also home to flock of purebred Muscovy ducks and we make and sell hay annually.
